~November 2005~
A dry, starry and still evening saw 6 of the 16 runners beat their 'estimated time'. Fresh from his 50-mile birthday run from Barbury Castle to Reading, John set off at a pace not seen since early this year. But as in October, Kevin set off at a rate of knots and closed the gap on John by the Coopers. However, as with last month, this took its toll and Kevin was unable to pass John, who maintained his early pace to win the race by 22 seconds. Gary continued the recovery seen this year, to come 2nd, recording a new personal best. A close finish saw Bob S overtake Alan in the last few meters, to take 3rd, with Karla, after a strong run from scratch, holding off Kevin to finish close behind in 5th. Close finishes further down the field saw Louise hold on to pip Bill for 7th, Elspeth passing Joe for 9th and Andrew holding off Rob for 14th. Special mention must be made of Karla, Louise, Joe, Bob S and Kevin, who set a session's best, and Gary, who beat his best ever time.
Well done to Steven and Julie Goulding for organizing the first Great Bedwyn 10km Run. They both were delighted with the big turnout for the run which was supported with over 200 runners. Well done to the following P.V.R.C. runners: Derek Stevens - 35.32 Mervyn Hobbs - 46.16 |
